It all started on a night of  September 1730 and wento on for six endless years; they were the longest eruptions in the history of the Canary Islands to this day, an event that brought destruction and desolation. All these landscapes remain almost intact today in the southwest of Lanzarote, forming the Volcanoes Natural Park.

In this experience among volcanoes we will learn to distinguish between different types of lava and volcanoes, to discover peculiar volcanic formations and to enjoy unique landscapes and endemic vegetation.

Get ready for a hiking route between volcanoes in Lanzarote: we start with the El Cuervo Volcano, the one that gave the start to the terrible eruptions: we walk around its immense crater ending up entering its interior. Crossing the rivers of lava we move through a lmoonscape to reach Montaña Colorada, the last of the volcanoes to erupt in Lanzarote in the 18th century. Here we will talk about vegetation, geology and we will discover a small hidden corner among the lava flows.

The landscape of Lanzarote underwent its greatest change after the Timanfaya eruptions of the 18th century. After six long years of destruction and devastation, life resurfaced among lava and ash. It was the hand of Man who knew how to transform the landscape, giving us today something unique in the world.

Today, a peculiar landscape is born from lava, ashes and destruction: vines that grow between lava flows or in the midst of large amounts of ash.
