Hiking in La Geria

an experience that will allow you to  conect with nature discovering the wonderful and unique landscape of La Geria.

Connect with nature and discover the fascinating world of Lanzarote's vineyards. A tour among vineyards that includes a climb to one of the highest volcanoes in Lanzarote, Guardilama, from where you will witness impressive panoramic views of the Timanfaya National Park and the beautiful southeast coast of Lanzarote. A contrast of landscapes that will make you understand the diversity of the island of volcanoes.

You will discover how it is possible to grow crops on such an arid and dry island and how the inhabitants of Lanzarote have been able to preserve the natural heritage of the area while you learn about the history and traditions of the peasants in Lanzarote.

Enjoy La Geria

As a final touch, we will visit a local winery, where you can taste the wines made with passion and tradition, immersing yourself in the authentic flavors of Lanzarote.

You will taste two wines of your choice, accompanied by delicious local cheese.

La Geria: hiking through vines

It is a medium level route, with an uneveness of 300m and an approximate duration of 3 hours.

We start by walking through the typical vineyards of La Geria before climbing to the top of Guardilama, where we will enjoy views of the Timanfaya National Park and its volcanoes. Going down towards La Geria, the landscape changes: we will now enjoy views of the southeast coast of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the Los Ajaches area.

During the ascent we will discover the different methods of water capture used on the island, we will talk about the great work of the peasants of Lanzarote and we will also learn how the landscape of La Geria changed after the Timanfaya eruptions.

After the hiking we will visit one of the wineries in La Geria tasting its wines and the local cheese.
